Welcome!
Welcome to Mesabi Community and Technical College's electronic portfolio site for the Higher Learning Commission PEAQ (Program for Evaluating and Advancing Quality) Self-Study report. We are here to lead the way! As you check out our eFolio site, you will discover firsthand just how dynamic and exciting we are as a college. This portfolio is designed to acquaint you with Mesabi Range College and its self-study for continuing accreditation. I invite you to review our report; in it you will find it a dynamic representation of what our college has to offer. The theme of our self-study, Charting Our Future: Leading the Way through Institutional Discovery, reflects the College’s commitment to understanding and learning from its history in order to influence and determine its future and the future of its students and community. The stories that are shared and the learning that is demonstrated throughout the self-study and on this website offer a compelling observation of the juxtaposition of the past and the future. This is captured throughout the eFolio by illustrating the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) four themes of orientation that are evident in its criteria for evaluation: orientation to the future, focus on learning, connectedness, and distinctiveness. Based on HLC’s recommendation that colleges identify these crosscutting themes in their reports, Mesabi Range College has utilized the four themes as a context for evaluation in the eFolio Self-Study website. In everything that we do and offer at Mesabi Range College, learners are at the heart of it all. Mesabi Range College is a product of its history and heritage as it faces new challenges and opportunities for the future. Guided by our mission and surrounded by a culture of collegiality and community, Mesabi Range College will position itself for the future while providing the highest quality programs and services. You are in for a treat as you get to know this dynamic and diverse college through the work illustrated in our eFolio. I welcome you to our website, and I invite you to navigate its pages. We are proud of our work - and we are excited to welcome you to our college! Best wishes, Dr. Tina Royer, Provost
